VANDAL BREW

SUMMER 2025: I was tasked with creating the full brand identity and style guide for Vandal Brew, a new café located inside the VandalStore. This included developing a visual system that felt fresh, inviting, and rooted in the University of Idaho experience. Ahead of opening day, I branded both the interior and exterior of the shop with new signage, frosted window decals, and an updated wall mural. The mural’s hand‑drawn icons were illustrated on my iPad to create a custom, hand-drawn look — originally designed as a pattern for food wrapping paper, but the client loved it so much it became the café’s feature wall.

LOGO DESIGN + GRAPHIC ELEMENTS

The Vandal Brew brand required a unique balance: it needed to reflect the university’s identity while complementing the Starbucks brand it proudly serves. I built a flexible logo system with marks that pair seamlessly with Starbucks in a variety of contexts, and designed the branding to evolve as the café grows — including the potential addition of alcohol sales in the future. Hand‑drawn icons can be added to the Vandal Brew graphic family over time, allowing the brand to expand its offerings while staying cohesive and recognizable.
